Turkey Carolina

My mom gave me these photos on her recent visit. She took them out of the window of her car on my grandparent's farm. I love the colors on this bird, not too showy but just enough to make it stunning. Often I think turkeys are ugly with their bare pink heads but these capture the beauty found in this bird. They also remind me why I love going home to South Carolina. I love the farms, the wildlife, and the slower pace of the small towns. In a month I'll be there to visit and hopefully, I'll catch a few of these turkeys hanging around...that is if they escaped the hunting season this year.
