Toad Camo


Toads are my favorite amphibian. Well I should state that they're my favorite because I rarely find salamanders and therefore they are the favorite by default. On one of my hiking trips in Lee County, Florida I came across this little toad in a pine upland. I thought he had great camoflauge and did a good job of getting out of harms way when I came trapsing through his home. If the toad is a little hard to see in the above picture I cropped it for a closer look below. Check out that striking blotchy coloration. This little bugger was about the size of a quarter.
