My friend Bill is an avid photographer. He comes out to Green Cay almost on a daily basis. Our friendship started when I became his bird ID guru. He would snap shots and I would identify the birds, especially the passerines. He's pretty good at IDing birds now, but every now and then he still finds something unusual or something that throws him for a loop. Through our talks he has found out that I have a thing for warblers and small birds in general (don't all birders?). So now he takes special pictures just for me. Below is the most recent set he's sent me and they include two of the most common birds at Green Cay this time of year on the habitat islands. Also, they are two of my favorites because no matter how common they are, I just love watching them. Something about the erratic hops of the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is fascinating and don't get me started on the tail flicking of our Palm Warbler. I hope you enjoy the series below as much as me.

Howdee Eva,
We met Bill when we were walking around Green Kay one morning...along with a few other "resident" photographers. Bill gave us the link to his photo site...
what amazing photos he takes there at Green Kay..I added him to my blogroll..
Great shots of two sweet little birdies.
Wow, you've got to be a good photographer to get shots of a gnatcatcher! Those little guys are hyper!
These are excellent and so sweet.
