Red-shouldered Hawk

The hawks are out in full force these days. The last couple of bird counts at Green Cay haven't been the most productive on the islands because the Red-shouldered Hawks (like above) and the Cooper's Hawks have been having a hey day. This causes all the small passerines to freeze and lay low until they leave. Of course they never leave, the hawks just keep circling the islands and landing on the boardwalk. The one above let me walk 5 feet from it in this Strangler Fig before flying off.
