Doing the numbers

Bring 3 birders together from 3 different counties and head to the Kendall, FL area and this is what you get: 59 species including 2 Tanager, 2 Oriole, 4 Vireo, and 11 Warbler Species for the day. That's a damn fine weekend in my book.

Here's our Saturday list (my lifers in CAPS): Fish Crow, Eurasian-collared Dove, Rock Pigeon, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Blue Jay, Northern Cardinal, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Orange-winged Parrot, Prairie Warbler, Norther Parula, White-winged Dove, Mourning Dove, Common Grackle, Boat-tailed Grackle, Spot-breasted Oriole, Common Yellowthroat, House Sparrow, European Starling, Brown Thrasher, Cattle Egret, Osprey, Gray Catbird, Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow-throated Vireo, White-eyed Vireo, Northern Cardinal, Red-shouldered Hawk, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Ovenbird, Black Vulture, Red-tailed Hawk, Tri-colored Heron, Belted Kingfisher, Great Egret, Green Heron, Common Moorhen, Monk Parakeet, SHORT-TAILED HAWK (both light and dark morph), Muscovy, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Baltimore Oriole, American Redstart, Palm Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, Painted Bunting, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Summer Tanager, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Cape May Warbler, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, Swainson's Thrush, Loggerhead Shrike, White Ibis, Snowy Egret, Cooper's Hawk, Wood Stork, and Mottled Duck.

Most of these were either seen at Matheson Hammock Park or Kendall Indian Hammocks Park. A couple were road birds and some were found in Andy's yard in Broward.
