This Corn Snake (Elaphe guttata guttata) decided to make a visit yesterday on the porch of the nature center. I believe it's the same one I found back in September. It really wasn't spooked at all by me, it even went up to my leg and gave it a little smell when I was crouched down. I love the color patterns on this snake. I have a deep love for all herps but something about corn snakes make me happy. I think it's partially because they all seem to have such a cool attitude but mostly, it's the striking colors: red and orange versus the black and white belly. Enjoy the pictures and check out that forked tongue.

Hey!
Wanted to pop in and say that we're enjoying all your posts!
We visited Green Cay over Mem day weekend & now we're enjoying the updates.
Thanks!
I was there that Saturday, next time stop in and introduce yourself. If I'm available I'll show you some behind the scene animals.
