Almost

Icterus pectoralis - Boynton Beach, FL - May 2008

Eumaeus atala - Lake Worth, FL - July 2008

Above are some pretty crummy shots of my lifer Spot-breasted Oriole and Atala Butterfly, respectively. Both are just fleeting blurs of color, something almost captured but just out of reach. I've had this blog for a year now and it's been fun documenting my nature adventures. And I feel like I have almost caught the highlights of the year. Of course my intentions in this webspace have been varied from updating family members, to reaching out to friends, to filing away important milestones in my naturalist career but mostly it feels like I have barely scratched the surface. I never like to do anything half-way or half-assed but blogging is different, it doesn't have to be perfect. I am not here to draw in huge crowds (though I do love the comments and readers that I have) or show off my photos (maybe one day if I get a nice camera that will change). I guess I'm just here to record and remember. And if along the way I meet some friends or learn something totally new, then I have been better for it.
