Well the big weekend of family visitation is over. My brother came in Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday. Now it's just Mom and Regina until next weekend when they leave. On Thursday my brother came out to Green Cay and watched me teach a Reptile and Amphibian program. Afterwards we took a walk on the boardwalk and found the baby Limpkins. They were busy foraging for snails with one of the parents. They were so engrossed in snail hunting that they didn't mind that we were only a few feet away snapping pictures.
I forgot my camera over the weekend but maybe my family will share some photos of the snorkeling and kayaking that took place in the Keys or our fun beach day at MacArthur State Park on Singer Island. The best part about family visiting is that it's a nice vacation and excuse for me to explore the cool sights right outside my door.

we were at green cay on saturday afternoon. we got rained on, but we knew that was going to happen!
we saw a lot of baby birds and several rabbits, but no gators.
I haven't seen rabbits out there in forever, that's a great sign! That means the Bobcats will show back up soon.
Correct, a Bobcat presence will add to a well-rounded ecosystem; hopefully, the cats will be able to return (have not been killed).
We have had a whole family there, up to 4 total. We know one was hit by a car on Hagen Ranch this year. The other was seen awhile back, but it's been awhile.
