This is only the beginning folks. Summer is not even on its way and the Common Moorhens are reproducing like crazy. I heard we have Purple Gallinule babies as well now at Green Cay. I was reading about signs of spring over at 10,000 Birds and I think these babies are the official sign here at the wetlands. And the weather in South Florida this week has been close to perfection. I love these cool nights and warm days. Why does summer have to come with its oppressive heat?
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." ~Charles Dickens
