Limpkins Nesting at Green Cay

There have been reports of Limpkins nesting at Green Cay before but there hasn't been any concrete evidence. Today all of that changed. One of our local photographers, Peter Schulz, emailed me the pictures seen below and described their whereabouts. After a short walk from the office I saw all 5 of the little ones closely surrounding the parent Limpkin. A 4 foot Alligator was only about 3 feet away soaking up the sun. The parent Limpkin wasn't making a sound and the young were rustling about underfoot.
