I've been using the Swarovski Optick CL Companions for months now and I must say they are a great pair of binoculars. They're lightweight, small in size, and fit comfortably in the hand. I really like the way that the caps fit on the ends and hold a good seal from dust and debris. I've carried them to Washington D.C. to Michigan to South Carolina and Jekyll Island Georgia. I've used them for birding, butterflying, watching softball, getting close-ups of baby Bobcats and Alligators, and even for digibinning. They've performed well in all types of low-light and extreme conditions. Another great feature that I've tested regularly in South Florida is the lack of fogging on the glass. This has come in handy quite a few times.
With a little over a month left to go, I'm going to take my tester pair and use them to the extreme. I have a trip to Mexico coming up in 3 days and then for New Year's I hit the western part of Florida for some Gulf birdwatching and sightseeing. January 1st also starts my Bird-a-Day efforts. This competition will mark one species for each day until I can't find any new species to add to the list. My goal is March 30, 2012. Anything after that will just be gravy.
If you're looking for a new pair of optics for the new year then I would highly recommend purchasing the Swarovski CLs. They won't disappoint!

Nice Bins! Have a great vacation!
Swarovski is great!
Love Swarovski products... and just reviewed the CL Companion on the Ireland's Wildlife website.
They're good, but I was expecting them to be better. I found they suffered a lot from glare in non-optimal light conditions, and the combination of soft edges and a relatively narrow field of view made extended viewing uncomfortable.
